This special Aged Snowbud white tea from Fujian China has been aged for more than 5 years. It brews a cup that is deeply mellow with light floral notes and hints of walnut. There is very little astringency due to the aged process. It is a very forgiving tea. The taste profile is very consistent, even when over brewed (steeped for too long) it still holds up well and doesn't get too astringent.
Unbeknownst to many tea drinkers in the West, similar to green Pu-erh and some darker Oolong teas, White teas can actually be aged. When stored right, White Teas will continue to oxidized slowly and develop a different taste profile. The result is a richer and more mellow taste. The Aged Snowbud is another fine example of a properly aged white tea.
